Welcome to GoodGames (“Service”), operated by Leave Your Mark, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). GoodGames is a social game library manager that helps you track, organize, and share your video game collections across platforms.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use GoodGames. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.

2. Accounts

2.1 Registration

You must create an account to use GoodGames. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

2.2 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one account. We reserve the right to merge or remove duplicate accounts.

2.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.

3. The Service

3.1 What GoodGames Does

GoodGames allows you to:

Import and sync your game libraries from third-party platforms (Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo)
Track play status, playtime, and achievement progress across platforms
Create and share curated game lists (collections)
Follow other users and view their activity
View game metadata sourced from third-party databases

3.2 Browser Extension

Certain features require the GoodGames browser extension for Chrome and/or Firefox. The extension facilitates importing your game library data by capturing authentication credentials from gaming platforms you are already logged into. The extension only activates on specific gaming platform pages and only transmits data to GoodGames servers.

By installing and using the extension, you acknowledge that:

The extension accesses authentication tokens from gaming platforms solely to retrieve your library data on your behalf
You must be logged into the relevant gaming platform for the extension to function
The extension does not store your gaming platform passwords
Captured credentials are used for a single import session and are not permanently stored

3.3 Third-Party Platform Data

GoodGames imports data from third-party gaming platforms (Steam, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Nintendo). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve, Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo. Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms of service.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of data imported from these platforms. Platform APIs may change, become unavailable, or rate-limit access at any time without notice.

3.4 Steam Web API Key

You may optionally provide your own Steam Web API Key to unlock additional import data (such as “Last Played” timestamps). By providing your Steam Web API Key, you acknowledge that:

You are responsible for obtaining your key from Valve in accordance with the Steam Web API Terms of Use
Your key is used solely to retrieve your own Steam library data on your behalf
Your key is encrypted and stored as a browser cookie on your device — it is never stored in our database
You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential and may revoke or remove it at any time
We are not liable for any consequences arising from the use or misuse of your Steam Web API Key

3.5 Game Metadata

Game information (titles, cover art, release dates, completion times) is sourced from IGDB and other third-party databases. This data is provided for informational purposes and may contain inaccuracies. We do not claim ownership of third-party game metadata.

3.6 Automated Status Classification

GoodGames uses automated heuristics to classify your games into status categories (playing, completed, backlog, etc.) based on playtime, achievements, and other signals. These classifications are estimates and may not reflect your actual intent. You may manually override any automated status at any time.

3.7 Alpha Status

GoodGames is currently in alpha. The Service is provided on an as-is, as-available basis. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. Data loss is possible. We make reasonable efforts to protect your data but cannot guarantee its preservation during this phase.

4. User Content

4.1 What You Own

You retain ownership of content you create on GoodGames, including reviews, ratings, list descriptions, list comments, and bio text (“User Content”).

4.2 License You Grant Us

By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely in connection with operating and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.

4.3 Content Standards

You agree not to post User Content that:

Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene
Infringes any third party’s intellectual property or privacy rights
Contains spam, advertising, or solicitations
Impersonates another person or entity
Contains malicious code or links

We may remove User Content that violates these standards at our discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service beyond the intended browser extension functionality
Reverse engineer the Service or its APIs
Use the Service to collect data about other users without their consent
Create accounts through automated means
Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security features
Share, sell, or transfer your account to another person
Use the Service in any way that could harm minors

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Property

The GoodGames name, logo, website design, and original software code are the property of Leave Your Mark, LLC. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials without written permission.

6.2 Third-Party Property

Game titles, cover art, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Steam is a trademark of Valve Corporation. Xbox is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. PlayStation is a trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Nintendo is a trademark of Nintendo Co., Ltd. Their use on GoodGames is for identification purposes only.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Termination

8.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, we will remove your profile, library data, lists, and other User Content within a reasonable timeframe.

8.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or for any other reason at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination unless immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users.

8.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 4.2, 6, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OF DATA IMPORTED FROM THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS OR GAME METADATA FROM EXTERNAL DATABASES.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEAVE YOUR MARK, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at contact@goodgames.fyi and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

11.3 Jurisdiction

Any disputes not resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Florida.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Leave Your Mark, LLC regarding the Service.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
